Now, a social media post by Arjun Hemrajani, CTO of Hipcask has hinted at Reliance Jio testing the service in Mumbai and Pune shared the speed (from ookla) of the broadband connection. He has received the free 100Mbps Jio FTTH home broadband connection few days ago. He has shared the speed of both 100Mbps and 1Gbps JIO FTTH home broadband connection.

Plans will start from Rs. 500 and JIO subscribers will have access to streaming services like JioTV, JIO Music and Jio Cinema through an IPTV set up box.

The company Chairman Mukesh Ambani already targets 100 million wireless broadband customers. In addition to 4G wireless services, RJIL (Reliance Jio Infocomm) is rolling out high speed internet services via FTTH. Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani at his AGM address mentioned company having laid more than 2.5 lakh kilometres of fibre-optic cables, covering 18,000 cities and over one lakh villages. The company aims to cover entire population of the country by the end of 2018.

Good News: Very interesting news about the launch of this high speed broadband service by JIO is that they are planning to provide preview offer in which they can provide free broadband connection for around 2-3 months. This offer will be similar to the preview offer for 4G devices as of now.
